Recently I was honored, not once, but TWICE! Within days of one another, two different bloggers nominated me for the Liebster Award. Liebster, which means “dearest” in German, is an award given by bloggers to bloggers. It is an honor intended for blogs with 200 followers or less. Thank you so much to both Sue from BebeandJ and Nancy from Daffodils at Home for honoring me with nominations.
Here are the official Liebster rules:
1} You must link back to the person who nominated you.
2} You must answer the 11 questions given to you by your nominator.
3} You must pick 11 bloggers, each with under 200 subscribers, to be nominated for the award.
4} You must come up with 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
5} You must go their blogs and notify them of their nomination.
The first nomination came from Susanne from BebeandJ. Susanne is the queen of upcycling! Check out what she did with this cabinet door and this pie crust table. She is super talented! Here are the questions Susanne posed to me…
What is your favorite food?
Eggplant Parmesean and Biscoff spread (but not together!) I just discovered Biscoff spread, and I am in LOVE! My friend Amanda and I are developing some recipes, so stay tuned!
What is your go-to recipe for family dinners?
Spaghetti, Chicken Alfredo, Meatballs in Orange Sauce
Whose blog are you really digging right now?
Gosh, there are so many! My number one inspiration is The Pioneer Woman…I’ve been following her for a long time – way before The Food Network discovered her. I love her humor as much as her recipes. She makes me giggle! Other blogs I read a lot are This Gal Cooks, This Silly Girl’s Life, Simple Food with The Artist Tony Rose, All She Cooks, Call Me PMc, Life with the Crust Cut Off, and Six Sisters’ Stuff. There are a lot more, but those are the first ones that pop into my head.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Just living life. My family’s favorite meals, my scrapbooking adventures, DIY projects…these are things that I would be doing anyway, even if I weren’t blogging. My blog is just an opportunity for me to share it with all of you!
Who is your favorite author?
What was always on your holiday wish list as a child?
Barbie! I was into Barbie until I was like 13 or 14, lol!
Do you sing in the shower?
Yep! And everywhere else! (much to my children’s frustration!)
Why did you start blogging?
Because everyone around me kept telling me that I should!
What are you working on that you are excited about?
More Bake It or Leave It projects, preparing for Christmas
What is at the top of your bucket list?
Going on a honeymoon with my husband! (We will celebrate our 9th anniversary this November!)
Something you can’t leave the house without?
My cell phone…it has my (and my family’s) life on it! I feel naked without it!
The next nomination came from Nancy over at Daffodils at Home. Nancy is a homeschooling mom who specializes in creative DIY projects (she’s a busy lady!) I really like her Welcome Sign and her Placemat Pillows. Here are Nancy’s Questions:
If you had to live in a decade other than the current one, which one would you choose?
I wouldn’t! My husband and I just had this conversation! (See more HERE.) I honestly have no desire to live in any other time period!
Why do you blog?
To fill up my abundant amount of free time…bahahahahahah! Seriously, I started blogging because everyone around me told me I should!
What is one thing not many people know about you?
I can Polka. I’m pretty darn good, but you have to catch me at a family wedding to witness it!
What is your favorite book ever?
The Birth Order Book by Kevin Lehman. It makes a lot of sense!
What is your favorite movie?
Elf…I watch it routinely (even in July!) And The Man Who Knew Too Little. They are both giggle-fests!
What is your favorite go to outfit?
Capris and a tank top…I’m pretty no nonsense most days. Oh yeah, and Birkenstocks!
What is something you’ve never done, but would like to try?
I’d love to go to culinary school…not to become a chef, but just to know how to chop things really fast and to learn what spices go well with what foods. I think it would be a fun adventure.
What is your favorite crafting tool?
My Cricut. I can’t scrapbook without it!
Who is your hero and why?
My grandparents. It is because of them that I came to know Jesus as my savior at an early age!
What inspired you to blog, or who inspires you now?
My friend Megan…she pushed me and found me the resources to get started. If it weren’t for her, I would probably still be in the “thinking about it” stage.
What is your favorite piece of furniture in your house?
My new scrapbook tables/desk. Megan and I found it at a yard sale this summer for $5! Score!
Okey Dokey…without any further ado…here are my nominees:
